Join The Plant a Row (PAR) Campaign!

PAR is rooted in the tradition of sharing bountiful garden harvests with others.
The plan is simple. Garden Writers Association of America (GWAA) and HGTV
are asking you to plant an additional row in your garden and deliver the harvest to a food collection agency near you. You can participate as an individual, team up with friends or social groups, or possibly even start your own PAR campaign in your community. Ask for our brochure, Starting Your Own PAR Campaign.
Record your donations. "In kind" donations are tax deductible in most jurisdictions. The amount varies by state. For corporations in 1999 the figure was $1.48 per pound. For individual donations you can get the exact figure from the local PAR network, from an accountant, or your State Bureau of Taxation. To support your claim to a deduction, ask for a receipt from the organization to which you donate.
